Born as a duet, Oblique is currently formed by Juan (chorus & keyboards), Sonia (Vocals). Juan is an electro fan of the music of artists such as Tiga, Console & Miss Kittin. Sonia likes Peaches and the pop of Madonna & Kylie Minogue.
Oblique’s music is the result of the combination of all the influences of the two members of the band. They love the 80's represented by bands like The Human League, Depeche Mode and Erasure. They make a neo-80's sound practically unique in the Spanish musical scene and only comparable to the European electro explosion created by labs like Gigolo or B-Pitch. A mixtage of electro, dance and pop music combined with beautiful melodies and ironic and always very sensual lyrics.
Oblique has some awards. They were the best electronic band in I Premios al Pop Español POP-EYE 2006 in Spain (BONVIVANT). They also became the winner band of Metro On Music (METRO ON MUSIC ) as the best electronic band. Oblique has won the Heineken Kulture Movement and they have played at Heineken Greenspace in Valencia (Spain) beside Pet Shop Boys, The Gift, The Pinker Tones, etc.
