"Shortly before we found Parralox back in March 08, EY somehow stumbled upon Spanish Sensations Oblique an act who generated almost as much email praise as Marsheaux did a year earlier on this very page. Following an 'Introducing...' article on EY, Oblique reported a sharp rise in iTunes sales of their back catalogue and deservedly so as this band have quite an impressive back catalogue. There were many stompers with Sonia's cute and innocent Spanish vocals but when we first heard 'All We Want', we had to rush it on to 'EY Vol 1' which would initial delays. We love the following vocal line 'Hey girl! Put on your heels and a t-shirt and shout to the DJ who that place so nice'. It's a heartwarming line about Friday nights all set to a really quite impressive bassline and some very hi-tech production. Oblique also rate Yazoo and Fernando Torres of Liverpool FC so keep an eye on them in months to come..." Click here
